How We Grow As Christians

Here’s a link to the sermon I preached this past Sunday at our church:

I struggled with the decision to post this because I didn’t want to appear to be self-publicizing. But then I realized that I have my own blog and that ship has already sailed. But I did want you to know that I didn’t post this because I think I’m awesome and you should hear me. I decided to post it because it is a further developed version of the same idea that I wrote about last week – about how we tend to take matters into our own hands instead of trusting and leaning into grace.

The message is the second part of a 2-part series called “The Last Word” which is an unpacking of how every part of our relationship with God, including our growth to maturity, is rooted in and fueled by grace. There is probably not a truth that has been more formative for me, in my own walk with God, than this one. And it is one that God has taught and re-taught me again and again, since I am a moron and so prone to forget it.

BTW, you can hear the first part of the series (preached by another pastor in our church, Don Spivey) by clicking here: http://tinyurl.com/42th6g4
